There are a few symptoms to look out for that will indicate your DPF requires cleaning:
- Your dashboard DPF warning symbol has come on
- You notice a loss of power
- The automatic stop-start system stops working
- Your notice a decrease in fuel economy
- Your cars cooling fans are running more than normal
Manufacturers recommend having DPF cleaned as regularly as every 6 months. This though depends on how you drive your car and the mileage you do.
